Friday I’m In Llama: Llama LOVE

Friday, January 14th, 2011

This week’s Friday I’m In Llama is dedicated to my incredible fiance who has been away interviewing all over the west coast for his internship position. He is nearing the end of his oh-so long PhD program and going on to do amazing things in the field of mental health. I am so proud of him and his commitment to the service and well-being of others. Anyone who has watched a loved one go through the process of becoming a doctor knows what a challenging process it is for them and everyone around them. We have been through a lot together and now we’re nearing the home stretch as the soon to be Dr. and Mrs… and yes, I kind of like the way that sounds. Congrats Fred and go kick some butt at those interviews! Lot’s of llama love from me to you.

These adorable cards were designed by Fuzzy Mugs and can be found right here.

Friday I’m In Llama: A Great Card

Friday, December 10th, 2010

Today I just had to share a funny little Llama card I received from a great friend for my birthday. I can’t imagine it was easy to find a delightful and well designed card with a llama on it, not to mention, the incredible llama humor..

The inside of the card reads, “Or maybe you celebrate differently where you’re from.” Haha!! I love it. Again, it was SO awesome that my friend went on a hunt for a llama birthday card. I know it couldn’t have been easy. Trust me, I’m always keeping an eye out for llama cards. Thank goodness my company mascot isn’t a Tarsier or a Blob Fish or something completely random like that.

I would also like to acknowledge another creative friend of mine who opted to tear the recent Banana Republic ad (featuring a llama) out of her magazine, and wrote a sweet message on it. This lovely Banana Republic ad features a gorgeous winter white llama transporting BR’s finest merchandise over the mountains to the chilly villagers below, who are in desperate need of merino wool. Or at least, that’s what it looks like to me.

I always appreciate Banana Republic’s affinity for placing llamas in their ads during the holiday season. Actually, I have a special fondness for Banana Republic. They were the very first company I ever worked for. And yes, I was one kick-ass sales girl!

Happy Friday everyone! I’m going furniture shopping with my newest interior design client in SF and I’m thrilled to be designing again! Wish me luck, it’s been a while..

Friday I’m In Llama: Party Like A Llama

Friday, December 3rd, 2010

Finishing up the party themed week, this morning I went on the hunt for some party llamas. Let me just say, there is A LOT of interesting (i.e. strange, baffling, bizarre) stuff out there. For example, apparently there is a National Llama Party on facebook and don’t even get me started on Urban Dictionary’s definition for “llama party.” Read it at your own risk… Ick! Sticking to the G rated content, here are a few of my favorite, albeit a little odd, party llamas!

And last but not least, these chicks that decided to dress up as a two-headed llama for a Halloween party. Why didn’t I think of that in college?!

I’m off to do some serious party prepping! Happy Friday! I hope your weekends are as fun as I know mine is going to be!

Friday I’m In Llama: Sick Day

Friday, November 19th, 2010

I am one sick little llama lover today so I’m going to crawl back into bed and start my weekend early. I think I’ll put on my favorite sick day movie.. Super Bad. Somehow being sick morphs me into a fourteen year old boy. Anyhow, for those of you not feeling your best today (apparently this is going around), I thought today would be the perfect day to share these adorable llamas below. Why are their eyes so big?! They look like adorable anime characters. I feel better already, don’t you?

Happy Friday! Have a great weekend and stay healthy! Being sick is no fun.

Friday I’m In Llama: Simple is Beautiful

Friday, November 12th, 2010

Lately I’ve been working on simplifying my personal life. Last week, I dumped out my closet and took five bags of clothes to the Goodwill, I cleaned out my office and threw out a large garbage bag full of unnecessary clutter, and I’ve attempted to spend more evenings away from the thirty-plus windows of information I have open on my computer to sit on the couch, listen to music, and read. Amazingly, I’ve been feeling a lot more calm and centered. Funny how that works. I’m not sure if it’s just a function of getting older (I’m just over a month away from turning 30!), but I’m starting to develop a true appreciation for the phrase “less is more.” That brings me to today’s Friday I’m In Llama. I completely adore this charming and uncomplicated llama illustration. It looks like one effortless scribble of a pen that magically turned into something amazing. To me it embodies a very important message that has been seeping into my life… simple is beautiful.

A big thank you to my blogging buddy Bekka Palmer who has a real knack for finding the best llamas out there (and sending them over to me). Happy Friday everyone! Have a simply beautiful weekend!

Friday I’m In Llama: Llamas With Hats

Friday, November 5th, 2010

True story, I have watched this first episode of Llamas With Hats about twenty seven times. I laugh (hard) every time. I don’t have much to say other than watch and enjoy! Happy Friday I’m in Llama!

Friday I’m In Llama: Alpacas with Post Punk Hair

Friday, October 29th, 2010

Alpacas. Yes, Alpacas.. not llamas.. but, they’re practically the same thing. Also, when they’re THIS AWESOME, I absolutely have to include them in Friday I’m In Llama. I give you (one of my favorite posts ever) alpacas with post punk hair!!

“Some guy I found on the Sartorialist.”

Liquid Liquid.

Echo and the Bunnymen.

The Chameleons.

Jesus and Mary Chain.

This one was added in the comments section.. Debbie Harry!

Be sure to check out Buzz Feed for the rest of this hilarious post. A big thank you to all of my sweet friends who sent this over to me. I love that you guys are always looking out for cool llamas. Happy Friday everyone.. and have the best Halloween ever! I’ll leave you with this spooky image of the Chihuahua pumpkin I carved the weekend before last.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!!

Friday I’m In Llama: Feeling Like Fall

Friday, October 22nd, 2010

This morning I woke up to dark skies and rain. Looking at the forecast, it looks like it’s going to be a wet weekend. *sigh* Yes, Fall is definitely here. It’s time to pull out my sweaters and scarves from the back of the closet.

This week’s Friday I’m In Llama image is one of my favorite llama photos of all time. These contrasting colors are gorgeous and this beautiful white llama couldn’t look more cozy. It embodies everything I love about this time of year, warm and rich textures. It makes me want to cozy up in my favorite knit blanket and drink someĀ MarieBelle Hot Chocolate (my favorite!).

Happy Friday! Have a cozy weekend.. and don’t forget to shop the LAMA SUPER SALE (while you’re favorite LAMA merchandise is still around).

Friday I’m In Llama: Nick Meek

Friday, October 15th, 2010

I’m always so excited when my search for llamas leads me to work like Nick Meek’s. A successful British photographer with clients like Volkswagon, Heineken, and British Airways, Nick’s simple composition lends itself well to his humorous outlook on the world. I am in love with the colors and overexposed nature of his photography. Going through his portfolio was a pure delight and I highly recommend checking out his work. Of course, this little llama below with a pretty pink background was my favorite, but I had to include a few others as well.

Happy Friday!! Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.. I’m carving pumpkins! Hooray!!
