Friday I’m In Llama: Say It In Llama!

Friday, April 15th, 2011

This week I learned how to write in llama. How’s that for a week’s achievement! I also learned how to read in llama (naturally..  reading and writing do go hand in hand). Allow me to translate just in case it’s not completely clear…

Miles and I want to wish you all a very Happy Friday!

A big thanks to all of my friends that emailed this site to me and to Omiyage and Bekka Palmer for tweeting it over.

Friday I’m In Llama: Wedding Llamas

Friday, March 25th, 2011

Today’s Friday I’m in Llama was sent over to me by the lovely and talented Spanish designer Adriana Bellet of Jeez Vanilla. Adriana is in the midst of planning her wedding and came across these wedding llamas by Evan Stremke. Lucky for me, she sent the link over and I was instantly smitten with these love llamas.

I have to say though, my favorite part of the email exchange between Adriana and I was becoming familiar with her work. For a while I have been admiring the work of Spanish designers. Spain is just bursting with talent! And Adriana is yet another example.

Those plates are my absolute favorite! Wow. Thank you so much Adriana for getting in touch and sending over this week’s Friday I’m In Llama! All the best to you and your wedding planning! Happy Friday Everyone!

Friday I’m In Llama: 3D Llama

Friday, March 4th, 2011

Question. Am I the only one that is totally annoyed that everything is in 3D these days? I remember thinking it was pretty awesome when I was a kid and my parents took my brothers and me to Disney Land to see Michael Jackson in Captain EO (in 3D). I swore I could grab the rainbow shooting off MJ’s shirt. But that was the 80′s. I just don’t get the comeback it’s making now and I really dislike the ill fitting glasses and the massive headache I walk out of the the theater with. It just doesn’t add much more than that to my movie going experience. But that’s just (grumpy) me. (ack! I realize I just went on a 3D rant.) But if you happen to love it enough to have your own pair of red cyan 3D glasses, than you’re going to love the 3D llama below. I guess if you can’t beat em’, join them. So behold … 3D llama!!

Awesome 3D lama photo found here. Happy Friday!!

Friday I’m In Llama: Alpaca Pal

Friday, February 25th, 2011

Lately I’ve been digging around the internet in search of some great art to add to one of my latest Pinterest boards, “heART.” Looking around I stumbled upon this adorable print by artist Helena Garcia entitiled “Alpaca Pal.” I know, alpacas are not llamas, but I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… close enough. How cute is this little Peruvian girl and her alpaca pal?! Adorable.

Happy Friday! Enjoy your weekend with your pals!

Friday I’m In Llama: Stylish Llamas

Friday, February 4th, 2011

If you follow my new blog Miles to Style or my weekly posts over at Dog-Milk, then you know I’m a big fan of stylish animals. Yes, I recognize just how silly it can be, but it’s a harmless way of having fun with your pets and, personally, I derive a ton of pleasure having fun with my best friend and biz partner Miles. So, for obvious reasons, I’m completely nuts over Anthropologie’s well styled catalogue animals, particularly this lovely lady llama.

Stunning, right? I haven’t actually confirmed the she is in fact a she, but “she” can sure rock the three necklaces at once look.

Happy Friday everyone! Have a stylish weekend!

Friday I’m In Llama: A Great Card

Friday, December 10th, 2010

Today I just had to share a funny little Llama card I received from a great friend for my birthday. I can’t imagine it was easy to find a delightful and well designed card with a llama on it, not to mention, the incredible llama humor..

The inside of the card reads, “Or maybe you celebrate differently where you’re from.” Haha!! I love it. Again, it was SO awesome that my friend went on a hunt for a llama birthday card. I know it couldn’t have been easy. Trust me, I’m always keeping an eye out for llama cards. Thank goodness my company mascot isn’t a Tarsier or a Blob Fish or something completely random like that.

I would also like to acknowledge another creative friend of mine who opted to tear the recent Banana Republic ad (featuring a llama) out of her magazine, and wrote a sweet message on it. This lovely Banana Republic ad features a gorgeous winter white llama transporting BR’s finest merchandise over the mountains to the chilly villagers below, who are in desperate need of merino wool. Or at least, that’s what it looks like to me.

I always appreciate Banana Republic’s affinity for placing llamas in their ads during the holiday season. Actually, I have a special fondness for Banana Republic. They were the very first company I ever worked for. And yes, I was one kick-ass sales girl!

Happy Friday everyone! I’m going furniture shopping with my newest interior design client in SF and I’m thrilled to be designing again! Wish me luck, it’s been a while..

Friday I’m In Llama: Party Like A Llama

Friday, December 3rd, 2010

Finishing up the party themed week, this morning I went on the hunt for some party llamas. Let me just say, there is A LOT of interesting (i.e. strange, baffling, bizarre) stuff out there. For example, apparently there is a National Llama Party on facebook and don’t even get me started on Urban Dictionary’s definition for “llama party.” Read it at your own risk… Ick! Sticking to the G rated content, here are a few of my favorite, albeit a little odd, party llamas!

And last but not least, these chicks that decided to dress up as a two-headed llama for a Halloween party. Why didn’t I think of that in college?!

I’m off to do some serious party prepping! Happy Friday! I hope your weekends are as fun as I know mine is going to be!

Friday I’m In Llama: Sick Day

Friday, November 19th, 2010

I am one sick little llama lover today so I’m going to crawl back into bed and start my weekend early. I think I’ll put on my favorite sick day movie.. Super Bad. Somehow being sick morphs me into a fourteen year old boy. Anyhow, for those of you not feeling your best today (apparently this is going around), I thought today would be the perfect day to share these adorable llamas below. Why are their eyes so big?! They look like adorable anime characters. I feel better already, don’t you?

Happy Friday! Have a great weekend and stay healthy! Being sick is no fun.
