Eduardo Hernández

Tuesday, November 16th, 2010

Eduardo Hernandez is a talented graphic designer and photographer I was excited to have recently discovered. Based out of Monterey, Mexico, Eduardo does a brilliant job of creating identities for companies in the area and beyond. I am particularly drawn to the identity he created for the Mexican seafood restaurant La Cigala Zul. The stenciled text is very reminiscent of the stencil art that can be found on city walls throughout Mexico. His vibrant usage of color is also fantastic. I’m completely inspired by his work!

Yam’s Cats

Thursday, August 12th, 2010

I have a confession to make. Before I was a dog person, I was a cat person. *gasp!* Shhh.. Don’t tell Miles. He hates cats. I happen to adore them, so I was really excited to come across the work of Yam Troilo. Yam, who is currently a graphic design student at the University of Buenos Aires, likes to work with several mediums. I love the combination of illustration, graphic design, collage, and stencil work she uses in each piece. It gives her work a lot of character and texture and I happen to be a fan of both. Her work is certainly the cat’s meow… sorry, I kind of had to go there.
