Joie Magazine

Wednesday, November 3rd, 2010

A few months back I was invited by the master of all that is handmade, Jen Wallace of Indie Fixx, to be a contributor to her latest issue of Joie Magazine. Joie is an online only publication that is “all about the art of joyful living. It’s a lifestyle mag and covers art, craft, living, design, fashion + more.” This issue revolved around the theme of “merrymaking” so when I was asked to conceptualize an article to write, naturally I thought about my favorite merrymaking activity.. parties!! I came up with a fiesta inspired holiday party concept complete with DIY decor ideas and a menu that is affordable and easy for anyone to recreate (I even included an idea for a cute party favor!) Want to read all about it? Be sure and check out Joie and please consider contributing $1.99 to the magazine to help support the talented folks that have helped put this together.

Indie Fixx Guest Blog: From Argentina with Color

Monday, June 14th, 2010

Indie Fixx author Jen Wallace decided to take a little vacation from her computer and honored me with an invitation to be a guest blogger for her. Cool! Naturally I decided to combine two of my favorite things, South America and interior design, for today’s guest post. Head over to Indie Fixx to check out my post “From Argentina with Color,” which features a collection of colorful photos from the homes of Argentina’s coolest independent designers.

Be sure to stop by tomorrow (oops, by tomorrow I meant Wednesday) when I share more of my favorite photos from Casa Chaucha. Thanks again Jen! I had a great time blogging on Indie Fixx!

Haiti Relief Fundraiser on Indie Fixx

Thursday, January 14th, 2010

Like many of you, I have been feeling completely devastated by the recent events in Haiti. The reports and coverage of the earthquake have been so heartbreaking. It has been so inspiring, however, to hear the stories of people like you and me who rise to the occasion and do their best to help out when others need it. I was so excited to hear that the lovely Jenn over at Indie Fixx has decided to start a silent auction over on her blog.

Jenn will be auctioning off some gorgeous merchandise generously donated by indie crafters, artists, and designers. 100% of the proceeds from Indie Fixx’s silent auction will go to the Red Cross International Response Fund. It’s for a great cause so head over to Indie Fixx and bid bid BID!
